Leading Female Eco-Entrepreneurs in Asia

Vanilla Luxury, a premier online lifestyle magazine in Singapore, recently highlighted five female entrepreneurs in Southeast Asia who are leading the way in environmental sustainability. Among them is Sirilak Narongtanupone, Co-Founder and Managing Director of Equator Pure Nature Co., Ltd. (EPN). She has been recognized as a top Asian entrepreneur for her dedication to promoting eco-friendly economic growth through the production and distribution of natural, chemical-free household cleaning products.

EPNโ€™s commitment extends beyond the product itself to include recyclable plastic packaging and efficient resource management throughout the production process. This aligns with the Bio-Circular-Green (BCG) Economic Model, which focuses on bio-based, circular, and green economic development for a sustainable future.

About Sirilak Narongtanupone Sirilak, Co-Founder and Managing Director of EPN, currently resides in Bangkok and is the mother of a seven-year-old son.

EPN is a “Cleantech” innovator that produces a wide range of natural, chemical-free household cleaners under the brand PiPPER STANDARD. All products are hypoallergenic-certified and biodegradable.ย

Before co-founding the company with Peter Wainman, Sirilak held senior positions at leading financial institutions in Thailand and abroad.

Vanilla Luxury: What was the starting point for creating natural cleaning products?

Sirilak Narongtanupone: We founded the business because we realized the harmful impact of chemicals on both people and the environment. It started when a family member, Peter, suffered a severe allergic reaction to chemicals in our home. This led us to research and develop natural alternatives, which eventually became PiPPER STANDARD.

All of our productsโ€”both for household and personal careโ€”utilize a global-patented technology that ferments pineapples with probiotic bacteria (the “good” microorganisms found in yogurt). This process produces natural biosurfactants and enzymes that are as effective as, or even better than, chemical-based products. Our formulas use fermented pineapple fluid as the main ingredient, are free from petrochemicals, and are hypoallergenic-certified, making them safe for every family member and the environment.

Vanilla Luxury: How does Equator Pure Nature apply the concept of sustainability to its products?

Sirilak Narongtanupone: Environmental responsibility is at our core. Our production process focuses on resource efficiency and minimizing environmental impact. We source pineapples from local farmers and utilize almost every part of the fruit, including the peels, in our fermentation process. Furthermore, the pineapple pulp remains are used as animal feed, and the resulting manure can be used as fertilizer for future crops.

Our products are certified to be over 90% biodegradable within 28 days. Additionally, PiPPER STANDARD bottles are made from HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene), a type of plastic that is highly recyclable and eco-friendly.

PiPPER STANDARD is currently available in 15 countries across Asia and the Middle East. Furthermore, our company actively supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)โ€”the global blueprint to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all living beings everywhere.
