The milestone of the PiPPER STANDARD Bottle

Interviewer: Weโd love for you to share the story behind the PiPPER STANDARD laundry and fabric softener bottles. They have such a unique, distinctive lookโwhat inspired that?
K. Jeng: With pleasure! As many know, our cleaning products were born from a personal need within our own family. After developing a pineapple-based formula that performed as well as chemical cleaners while remaining safe for people and the environment, we realized we had something truly special.
The challenge was: how do we communicate this difference to consumers in a highly competitive market? If you walk down a supermarket aisle, itโs crowded with major brands. We knew that our packaging design had to be differentโit had to tell our story at a glance and make us stand out on the shelf.
The Design Concepts
We collaborated with a renowned designer, Aom (Pathon Cherdchuen). After sharing our journey and vision with him, he presented four distinct design concepts:
Healthy Kit: Inspired by a first-aid kit, representing healing and relief.
Modern Living: Focused on high-functioning efficiency with a minimalist aesthetic.
Research Lab: Reflecting the scientific discovery and rigorous testing by our scientists.
Nature-Inspired: Representing the raw, natural ingredients we use.
Choosing “Modern Living” for a Healthy Home

Modern Living Concept
After much discussion, we chose a hybrid of the first two concepts. We wanted the bottle to reflect our core belief: “Health starts at home.” Beyond aesthetics, functionality was key. The bottle had to be easy to pour, measure, and carry. We chose HDPE plastic, which is highly durable and, most importantly, recyclable. Refining for the User
Designed using the โHealthy Kitโ and โModern Livingโ concepts.

The bottle cap was redesigned to include a handle.

The handle was redesigned for better comfort and usability.
The bottle didnโt start out exactly as you see it today. We spent nearly four months refining the drawings and creating prototypes. We specifically designed it with womenโour primary usersโin mind. We adjusted the handle grip, the bottleโs shape, and its volume to ensure it wasn’t too heavy and felt comfortable in the hand. We also designed the cap to double as a measuring cup for precise usage.
We also owe a huge thanks to K. Prasan, a major plastic factory owner who believed in us. He helped us open the molds and worked closely with our team to make the bottle functional for mass production.
Overcoming Challenges & Moving Toward Sustainability
The early years weren’t without hurdles. We received feedback that the caps were hard to open or that bottles leaked! (Laughs). Thanks to K. Prasanโs team, we continuously improved the neck design and the anti-leak rings.
Looking forward, we are committed to being even more eco-friendly. We recently launched the “PiPPER Bottle Recycling Project,” where we collect used bottles to be processed into PCR (Post-Consumer Recycled) plastic. As a thank you, customers receive a tote bag for every five bottles returned. Itโs been very well-received!

The Power of Pastel & Typography
While most cleaning products use bold, aggressive colors to grab attention, we chose pastels, off-whites, and light greens. We wanted the bottle to look friendly and safe for both health and the environment. We even chose a “child-like” font to emphasize safety. While some people initially thought it was just for babies, the design is meant to signal safety for the entire family.
